Do I need an energy rating (or Thermal Performance Assessment)?

Yes, if you are planning to lodge an application for either a proposed new dwelling or extension/addition for Building Rules Consent with your Council or Private Certifier. An Energy Rating or Thermal Performance Assessment is part of the required documentation to gain compliance (and approval to proceed with building).

What is an energy rating?

An Energy Efficiency Rating (or Thermal Performance Assessment), is a report that shows how energy efficient a building or proposed building is. It is a requirement if you are planning to build a new dwelling or an extension/addition to an existing building, and forms part of the documentation to gain approval to build.

How much does an energy rating cost?

We prefer to give our clients an accurate quotation based on the exact details of each individual project. Building projects vary in so many ways, and our rigorous approach seeks to find the most economical complying solution. This enables our clients to have better control over their building costs. Obtaining a quotation is easy - just send us an email or use the Contact page with your information and we will respond within 24 hours.

How long will you take to complete my energy rating?

Once we have received written approval from you to proceed with a Thermal Performance Assessment/Energy Efficiency Rating, we will endeavour to have the report completed within 5 working days.
